During an Environment migration Authentication errors might result if the GUIDs are not refreshed and the system detects a mismatch for the user GUID.
To Resolve this Authentication errors that occurs during migration do the following steps exactly.
To refresh the user GUIDs:
- Open the NQSConfig.INI file for editing.
- Locate the setting
FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = NO
and change its value toYES.
- Modify the instanceconfig.xml file to instruct Presentation Services to refresh GUIDs on restart. Edit the file and find the following section:
<Catalog> <UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit> </Catalog>
<Catalog> <!--UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit--> <UpdateAccountGUIDs>UpdateAndExit</UpdateAccountGUIDs> </Catalog> - Stop and restart the managed processes using the
opmnctlcommand with the parametersstopallandstartall. You can use the parameterstatusto verify process status throughout.
The following components are involved: Presentation Services, Oracle BI Server, Oracle BI Scheduler, Oracle BI Cluster Controller, and Oracle BI JavaHost.
- Edit the NQSConfig.INI file to reset the
FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YEStoNOand restart the Oracle BI Servers.
- Comment out the line added in Step 3 and remove the commenting from the original line so that it reads as shown in the following example:
<Catalog> <UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit> <!--UpdateAccountGUIDs>UpdateAndExit</UpdateAccountGUIDs--></Catalog> - Restart Presentation Services for the instanceconfig.xml file that was updated.
- Ensure that Oracle WebLogic Server and the system components are also running. If they are not running, then restart them.

I had the similar problem but as I am new to OBIEE 11g,just had few questions;
I have a RPD with a password which is different from the weblogic.Would you please tell me with what password I need to log in into presentation services the weblogic password or RPD password because with both of the password its not allowing to log in .

I guess you have already upgraded your rpd to your current obiee version:
assuming that then do the following:
Open your rpd and delete the existing weblogic user from the identity tab.
Once this is done, refresh the GUID as shown in this post.
after this restart the services and you should be able to login with your weblogic use now..

Good Information... but point-4 needs little addition. We have to wait for presentation server component to come down while opmn bounce, then proceed with further steps. Rest all well explained.. :) (y)
